Whenever you start thinking about it! Whether you're planning a session months in advance or your extended family is suddenly all together for one weekend, reach out. I’m flexible and can typically find a way to make it work, even when the timing is a little last-minute. The sooner you reach out, the more options we'll have for dates and locations, but don't assume it's too late just because you didn't plan ahead. I'll always do my best to make it happen!

Wear something that makes you feel like a slightly elevated version of you! I recommend choosing coordinating colors, patterns, and textures rather than everyone wearing matching outfits. Most importantly, make sure everyone is comfortable enough to move around and be themselves. And if you need help, ask me! I'm happy to offer suggestions based on your location, season and the look you're going for.

Absolutely! Your session should feel like you, not a cookie-cutter photo shoot. I have a starting point for each session type, but we can adjust the plan based on what you're hoping to capture, the people involved, and the occasion.

Yes! I'm based in the Kansas City area and photograph sessions throughout. If you have a special location in mind or need me to travel farther, just ask! We can talk through what you have in mind and any additional travel fee that may apply.

Of course! Dogs are part of the family, too. If you’d like to include your pup, (or pups!) just let me know when we’re planning your session so we can choose a location that works well for everyone.

Definitely! If there’s something meaningful, fun, or sentimental that you’d like to incorporate, bring it along. If you know ahead of time, let me know so I can prepare for it if needed. Whether it’s a favorite sport, a family heirloom, a graduation cap, or something completely unexpected, I love when your photos tell your story.

I'd love that! If there are particular combinations, poses, details or must-have photos you have in mind, tell me. It’s especially helpful to share any specific plans for how you want to use the images ahead of time. For example, if you know you’d love a large horizontal family photo to hang above your fireplace, or you want to recreate a special generational photograph, I can plan for those needs when we’re together. I’m happy to incorporate your ideas while also looking for those candid, unexpected moments that you may not have thought to ask for.

Don’t worry - I’ll keep an eye on it! For outdoor sessions, I watch the forecast and will reach out if weather conditions could affect the safety, comfort, or quality of your session. If we need to reschedule, we’ll find another date that works.

Please just let me know as soon as you can. I’d much rather reschedule than have someone feeling miserable during your session, or risk spreading the germs around. I’ll do my best to work with you to find another date that works.

Life happens! If something comes up, let me know as soon as possible and we’ll figure it out. I’ll always do my best to work with you, and the more notice you can give me, the more options we’ll have for finding a new date.

Don’t stress! Kids don’t have to sit still, smile on command, or follow a script for us to get great photos. I’ll keep things moving, work with their personalities, and look for the moments that happen naturally. Sometimes the photos we love most are the ones we never planned.

You’re in good company! Most people aren’t used to having a camera pointed at them, and you definitely don’t need to know how to pose. I’ll give you direction when you need it, pay attention to flattering angles and positioning, and help you feel comfortable throughout the session. And if you’re wondering, “Does this actually look good?” I’m happy to show you a few images along the way so you can see how everything is coming together. My goal is for you to feel confident, comfortable, and like yourself in your photos.

Your gallery makes it easy to download your images, share them with friends and family, and post them on social media. But I also highly recommend getting your favorites off your phone or computer and into your home! Your gallery gives you access to a professional photo lab where you can order everything from everyday prints and enlargements to canvases, physical albums, and other beautiful products.
