Meet our beautifully imperfect blended family.

Neil and I got married in the fall of 2021 after meeting during COVID the year before. Today we work hard to juggle our careers and hobbies with the needs and passions of my two teenage daughters and his elementary-aged son.There's definitely no guide for all the challenges this can bring, but I do believe we are better together.

My Photography Journey

In many ways, I can thank my dad for growing this passion into a business.

While I didn't study photography in school, I was the girl who ALWAYS had a camera in hand, long before cell phones. It's like I have an innate desire to document life.When my dad let me have his 1970s fully manual Minolta film camera in the early 2000s, everything changed. I became obsessed with learning photography and advancing my skills and I haven't stopped. While today I use a digital SLR camera, I still adjust all settings manually (except for focus) and feel that's the best way I can control the vision I have for each photo shoot.Before my dad passed in 2023, he gifted me several of the photography tools & equipment I use each day and was so proud to support his daughter's own business for more than 10+ years.For his unfailing love, I am grateful.

Where you can find me on the weekends...

My full-time sales and marketing career spans over 25 years (eek!). Between that and my photography business, I feel like free time is scarce. So, I choose carefully.Here are a few things that make me happy.

Cheering for my kids...in life and on the sidelines

Competitive dance, ballet, club volleyball, and school soccer to be specific. Or any kind of performance my stepson has created - these days it likely includes songs from the movie Wicked. "Popular," anyone?!

Waking up next to a lake with my husband and three dogs

And sometimes the kids and their friends come along. I'd prefer the beach, but we live in Kansas, so a lake it is until summer vacation comes around! We love to be on the water in our boat or making s'mores around the fire pit.

Catching up on all the things with my dearest friends

Often, while snacking on chips and queso and sipping margaritas. Life is so busy for all of us, but as an only child, my friends ARE my family so they're a huge priority in my life. Thirsty Thursdays have become a thing...if you're local, I'll fill you in!

What can't I live without?

Coke Zero. It's my kick-start for the day and well into the morning. I wasn't raised in a family that drank coffee, and I've never acquired the taste.

Who's my favorite team?

The men's basketball team at the University of Kansas. Rock Chalk! But also, the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. I'm loyal to my hometown!

What's my dream job?

I would absolutely love to live on the beach, outside the city, and sell photographs to those visiting as a keepsake of their travels.

What special projects are keeping us busy?

Remodeling our travel trailer while Neil rebuilds a boat from the floor up. I plan to share more about these interesting undertakings soon.

What's my favorite form of entertainment?

Listening to live music. Whether it's a large concert or an intimate venue, I try to find the time (and money!) to enjoy a few events each year.
